Hair Update | May 2015 [Video]

Hair updates have been few and far between over the last couple of years, especially on my YouTube channel, so here's the latest. I'm still transitioning to texlaxed (more info here) and my hair is a mass of textures which is the main reason low maintenance is key for me. You can see exactly how my hair looks post-wash with barely any product in the video.

The Video:

I never really wanted to do 'chatty' videos when I first started my channel and I always had tutorials in mind but it's difficult for me to do styling tutorials as I'm trying not to manipulate my hair too much. I could do some updated videos of older content like my 'Wash Day' routine or how I moisturise. It really depends on what people want to see from me. I definitely want to be more active on YouTube though as I'm slowly getting the hang of filming and editing! Let me know if there's anything in particular that you would like to see (it doesn't have to be hair related).

What have you been doing with your hair recently?

  1. Beautiful hair! You should do what you Want to do with your hair and film what you want to film. There are thousands and thousands of YouTube channels and people can choose another if they don't like your contents.

When people ask to see your own hair it isn't necessary about not liking wigs. For those going through the same journey it is very helpful to see what others hair look like, how they deal with different texture and product etc. that is the reason why progress pics are so popular in blogs. To compare, to see how others deal with the struggles, generally the progress.

This was a great video. You have a lot of hair, if this is the texturised hair one can only imagine how big your natural hair is. Braid outs would be great on you as your hair has so much volume.

    Thanks for the video!

    1. Thank you Lisa. A couple of comments did refer specifically to not liking wigs and as I know I'll still be wearing them on and off I thought I'd respond directly so people are aware exactly of what my intentions are. I'll still film what I want to but I don't want people to expect my videos to be all about my hair when they won't always be.
My texlaxed hair is so big which I wasn't expecting so I can't imagine how big my hair would be if it was natural! I definitely need to do more braid outs etc. I'm so lazy with my hair currently, I just wear it in a bun x

  7. I've been reading a lot about hair growth within the last 10 months as I'm currently growing out my hair from a super short pixie. It was liberating at first when I cut it but eventually I got tired of it and wanted my hair back. I remember seeing a photo of you on Pinterest when I just started my own journey and didn't know a name or where to find your blog or channel. I happened to stumble upon your YouTube channel months later and I was so elated! You have beautiful features and gorgeous hair. Your journey is inspiring. Keep posting!
