How To | Big Textured High Bun [Video]

A big textured bun is my go-to style as it's quick, easy and hides my straight, stringy ends. You don't need many products to do this style - just a moisturiser and a gel. I've never shared how I do my everyday bun before so here's a quick video outlining my process. If you have any questions or requests for videos, let me know.

  6. Oh yes i meant to ask!--Lesley, how do you combat breakage in your stretch?? 10months is a really really long stretch &my hair would be breaking like nobody's business.i moisturise, seal with oils, wash weakly&deep condition&try balance my moisture with proteins treatments ,the works! But at a 3months stretch tops my hair complains.

    2. How much hair loss should i see on my wash days? Is there a measurement? How about when I moisturise and seal? Coz there are always some strands On my hands afterwards..?

Sorry for such a long one x

    1. Hey!

      1. Honestly I've never stretched longer than 6-7 months before. I've always done about 4-5 months but I really want to get my relaxer use down to once a year so that's sort of kept me going.
Moisture is key so what you're doing already sounds great to me. I'd say listen to your hair, there's nothing wrong with 3 month stretches.
Trying out wearing a wig as a protective style from April-June really helped me extend my stretch as I was starting to get the itch to relax at that point. Now my hair is out again and I just wear wigs whenever I feel like it but I plan to braid it up properly at some point which I think will help me make a year long stretch quite easily.

      2. I have lots of shed hair on wash day. Like a lot. I don't really detangle my hair throughout the week - I just moisturise it. So of course by wash day all the hairs that have naturally fallen out seem to be all coming out at once.
If you feel like you have a lot of shedding (than what's normal for you) and your hair is getting noticeably thinner there might be an underlying problem which you'll need to seek medical advice for. Otherwise you can expect to lose anywhere between 50-100 hairs a day. I wouldn’t worry about a few strands, sounds totally normal to me.

Sorry for the long answer! x

    2. Thank you tons for The responce. It really helps. thank God there is no noticeable thinning my hair actually is doing much better since i started hair journey (June 2015).Yes i also limit combing to washdays only on weekends,so that would explain the shed hair amount i suppose. Ok! No more freaking out. :) Xoxo
