Joico Moisture Recovery Treatment Balm
Something that went on my product wish list long ago was this Joico Moisture Recovery Treatment Balm. I've read good reviews and at £14.95 for 500ml it's proving to be the perfect partner for my dry hair.
Specially designed for thick or coarse dry hair this conditioner promises to both attract and retain moisture. The formula, is enriched with Hydramine Sea Complex, Olive oil, Murumuru and Shea butter which also softens the hair. So far I agree with the claims. I've been leaving this conditioner on for less than my usual 30 minute deep condition and it's still left my hair super moisturised. There was a complete difference in my hair condition after a single use! The conditioner has worked so well for my hair that I don't have to moisturise & seal as often between washes which is a plus. It's very thick and creamy too so you don't need to use too much at a time. Despite it's thickness, I've not found the conditioner heavy or greasy but those with fine hair might have to use this sparingly.
This conditioner contains keratin, which seems to be a buzz word in the beauty industry at the moment. I don't usually like using conditioners that contain a lot of protein on a regular basis as my hair seems to be sensitive to it. The Moisture Recovery however has worked well so I'm assuming the balance of protein and moisture is spot on.
Overall this was a great buy for me and I'm happy I finally tried it!
Have you tried JOICO products?
Lesley x
I love Joico Moisture Recovery Conditioner for dry hair. I've tried the balm but it was a bit too thick for me.
ReplyDeleteI love the packaging! Never used Joico products.
ReplyDeleteNever heard of this brand.. Sounds great with murubutter and stuff xx
ReplyDeleteI've used the conditioner before. It didn't seem to add much to my hair so I quit using it after the bottle was empty, maybe a little before it was. I've never seen the balm but love the Moroccan Oil Masque.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate all your comments, thanks ladies.
ReplyDelete@Southern Girl Oh that's a shame! The balm version is super thick and a similar consistency to Moroccanoil's Intense Hydrating Mask
I absolutely love the Joico Moisture recovery balm! I've kept it in rotation with my other faves for about a year!
ReplyDeleteI love the pump on it
ReplyDeleteI av 5 litres of my keracare humecto to get through then i will def give this a try as its cheap and thick i love my DCs thick and rich in texture but I am concerned abt the protein in it as its not something i want weekly
£14.95 for 500ml !!! amazing
oh where did you get it for that price? pls send the link. thx
DeleteHi Eni I got it at feelunique.com, the 250ml is only £2 cheaper so I thought it was a good price. The pump is so handy!
ReplyDeleteI've seen so many good reviews on this product, I should probably try it out soon! Great post! :))
ReplyDeleteXO,

hmm what about the dimethicone in it? and its listed as the 3rd ingredient too.
ReplyDeletei mean u already have super long hair so it may not be a concern to u but i like this product just not sure about the cone. do i get rid of it with any sulfate shampoo?
actually u know what would be great? a post on why ppl are so concerned abt certain ingredients and why other arent? different hair needs yes.......... but maybe also some sort of mentality of jumping on the bandwagon......just think out loud

Thanks ladies :)
Delete@Karen it has got a high cone content, but that's not something that bothers me as I use a clarifying shampoo every 2 weeks. I think a lot of women read the negative sides of a certain ingredient and automatically assume it's bad without even trying it to know how their own hair responds to it. I use cones and a lot of them without any problems
Great review. I may just look into this product. I always hear such good things about Joico and yet to use any of their products.
ReplyDeleteSame here until now, I'd definitely try more of their products after using this conditioner
DeleteYou wouldnt regret buying the wet and wild palette :) ive seen that some bloggers order from beautyjoint.com or somthing xx
ReplyDeleteThey look so good! Thanks for the link :)
DeleteAwesome review. It looks so thick! That is right up my hair's alley!
ReplyDeleteI love love Joico.....I started trying there products just because they listed their ph levels on their packaging material. They are my new found love for 2013; my favor is the Kpak Intense Hydrator; I will have to try this one. My next new love is Profolla....love love this product; the only downside is I can only find it on-line. However, these two product have been a match made in heaven for me. It makes me want to deep condition everyday under my steam. Great review & hair.......
ReplyDeleteThis is a great review! I used to use this but I didn't realise it came in a pump bottle...I used to use a squeezy tube, will have to look into buying it again! x

Hey ladies I've been using Joico products for 3yrs now. I tend to find the large bottles retailing at TKmaxx.
ReplyDeleteSo the next time you're walking past on have a browse in their grooming products you too will unearth a few gems ;)
Thanks all of you :)
ReplyDelete@Arm Frosting the ph info is definitely handy, I'd love to try the KPak Intense Hydrator
@Elle Bee Nor did I until I checked the full range of Joico products on Feel Unique, it's a nice addition
@Paula L Good to know, I never go in TKMaxx but will definitely check for some beauty/hair goodies :)
Very nice post .I think this is very good conditioner for dry hair.I surely try this.
ReplyDeleteJoico sounds great. Thanks Lesley!
ReplyDeleteI wish more companies would give samples. It's really a shame how much we spend buying all of these products and jumping from one to the other.
My new rule is to stick to my staples and change only one category of product at a time, to test combinations.
I just ordered Paul Mitchell & ORS products so I'll give Joico a go, after I'm done with all of that. Too bad I read your post only now.
Happy Deep conditioning!
