Hairstyle | Big Fluffy Twist Out

Today I wore a twist out for the first time in months. I've not been able to wear a twist out in so long as the curls haven't lasted recently. I tried the 3 strand twist method this time around (instead of the 2 strand twist), twisting freshly washed hair before bed and unravelling this morning. I used this tutorial from Alyssa but I used tights as one of the 'strands' as shown in my braidout tutorial here. It gave my hair the perfect definition at the ends, blending the multiple textures on my head.

It's already dark by the time I get home from work so the lighting in the snaps isn't the best, but you can get an idea of how big my hair is.

Ever since I started committing to my transition to texlaxed (more info here) my hair has so much more body and fullness. I don't think my hair has ever looked so thick. At the beginning of my transition, I must admit I felt a little overwhelmed by my thicker, fluffy (and seemingly gravity defying) strands. Now I can't wait to chop off my lifeless bone straight ends, though I'm not going to just yet.

How have you been styling your hair lately?

  1. Umm...HELLO BEAUTIFUL! I love how big your hair is here! Big hair don't care!

How long do you think that it will last and how do you care for it at night?

    1. Thank you KLP!

I'm going to loosely twist my hair up tonight and pinapple to preserve the texture and I'll continue to do that until wash day which'll be at the weekend x

  10. Twist outs are the best! I absolutely love your hair, and you're so gorgeous! My hair's usually in twist outs only because I'm too lazy to do anything to it.
