Hair Talk | Transitioning and texlaxing

A lot of the relaxed hair bloggers and YouTubers I follow have recently decided to go natural. As a lot of people have asked me if I am too I thought I'd do a video on my future plans with regards to relaxing.

In short, I'm not going natural, though I've thought about it quite a few times and would definitely transition to natural hair in the future. My current plan is to continue texlaxing, leaving a slight curl in my hair (see this post for more details).

The video:

I realise it's often long periods between my YouTube uploads, but I find videos a lot more difficult to put together than blog posts. That said, I do intend on making more videos and I'm hoping when I get into the swing of planning, filming and editing that my uploads will be more frequent.

What kind of YouTube videos would you like to see from me?

  2. So, I was on the fence also but I finally decided I want to go natural. I'm nervous because I don't know if I have the time but we will see.

  3. Hi Lesley, I can certainly understand trying to decide which way to go. I am 26 weeks post and I keep playing with the idea of going completely natural. I think I'm going to continue texlaxing for now though. It's always important to do what works best for you.

    1. Yeah you definitely have to do what works best for you, and for me too it's continuing with relaxing even though I like the idea of going natural x

  4. It's great to still have you been relaxed/texlaxed. Make the best decision for your hair always.

  5. Its funny because when i tell people i'm also transitioning , they get the impression that i'm transitioning from relaxed hair to pure natural hair , then i have to correct them by telling them i'm actually transitioning to texlaxed hair from bone straight relaxed hair . Some don't see any difference though but i tell you there is. You inspired my transitioning journey so i would hate to see you go natural or chop your entire hair off because then i would be stuck...lol. Great video dear. Love your lip colour.

    1. Thank you Uzo. I get that too when I say 'transitioning' so that's why I try and make it as clear as possible that I'm texlaxing not going natural.
I thought you had changed your blog name as your Instagram was different. Your posts haven't been coming up on my blog feed so I think I may need to readd you! x

  7. I think that the pressure is ridiculous. The natural movement is a beautiful one, but people are forcing it on others and acting holier than thou over it. I think your hair is absolutely gorgeous, as are you. And I look at you as an inspiration. I'm glad you haven't given in to the pressure.
