Review | Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Lacquer

When it rolls around to winter I always only seem to want to wear berry-hues on my lips. In preparation I've added a few new plum shades to my lip collection including Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Lacquer (£5.49) in Eclipse.

The best thing about this product for me is the colour. The colour is long-lasting and acts like a stain so when it eventually starts to fade the plum tone is still easily visible on my lips. This product is so highly pigmented that at times I find it a bit too intense for daytime makeup looks. As a result I tend to prefer wearing this lip lacquer for evenings out and, when I'm feeling particularly experimental with my makeup, I'll pair this product with nude or brown eyeshadow.

I'm not a fan of lip lacquers usually as I don't like the sticky texture but I don't mind the texture of this particular product. I hate gloss-style applicators too as I can't seem to get a defined lip-line when using them. The formula of this product however is so thick and somewhat stiff that it makes it easier to apply neatly without the aid of a brush or lip-liner. You can see the sharpness of the lip-line achieved below which seems to stay put throughout the day.

Overall I love the colour of this product so much this lacquer is quickly becoming a favourite.

Have you tried anything by Rimmel London?
